Banknote with a face value of 500 lei
Characteristics:
Dimensions: 66 x 133 mm;
Dominant colors, double-sided: light green, orange and gray;
Printed on special paper, the mass of which includes a watermark that reproduces the portrait of Stephen the Great and a fully embedded metallic vertical safety wire.
Banknote front: Coat of arms of the Republic of Moldova, name of the issuing bank "NATIONAL BANK OF MOLDOVA", inscription "REPUBLIC OF MOLDOVA", portrait of Stephen the Great, a multicolored national ornament, three vertical decorative elements, central counter, face value printed in numbers and letters , the logo "BNM", the word "GOVERNOR" and the facsimile signature of the governor of the National Bank, the text on the circle "ON A FEET OF WAY, ON A MOUTH OF HEAVEN ...", the symbol of Victory - "V", year of printing "1992" banknote, banknote number and series, the text "COUNTERFEITING OF THESE BILLS IS PUNISHED IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE LAW".
Verse of the banknote: Inside a rectangular frame the graphic image of the Chisinau Cathedral with the inscription under it "Chisinau. The Cathedral", the face value in numbers and letters, three vertical decorative elements, the Coat of Arms of Stephen the Great, the stylized image of Trajan's Column, The column of the Infinite and between them the crescent, the name of the issuing bank "NATIONAL BANK OF MOLDOVA", the logo "BNM".
Safety features:
shaded watermark, representing the portrait of Stephen the Great facing the center, visible to the naked eye;
the metallic safety wire embedded between the vertical decorative element to the left of the banknote and the central counter, visible to the naked eye;
the two-sided overlapping element: when looking at the backlit banknote, the outer contour of the images of the sun on the front of the banknote and the crescent on the back must coincide, as must the circle of the sun with the circle in which the crescent is inscribed. When overlapping the letter "V" on the front of the banknote and the image of Trajan's Column and the Infinity Column on the back must form the silhouette of the letter "M" (Moldova)
